Gloriously Glamping

This year we went camping for 2.5 weeks, all at the same park: Restoule Provincial Park. Well, to be honest, it is hardly camping.....can't really call it camping when you have a trailer with many amenities, hence the term "glamping". But you know what? I'd rather glamp than camp and lose my sanity somewhere along the way!

We had never been to Restoule and we found out that it is a park we will return to again. While the sites weren't as private as we like them to be, the beach, lake(s), trails etc. were amazing. We loved it! And we LOVED spending 2.5 weeks together as a family. Are you ready for lots of pictures?! Actually, it'll probably be over a few installments....

Here is our site. We decided to park our trailer in the front of our site to have a bit more privacy. It worked!!
A very large bear (300 pounds!) decided to welcome us our first night....well, we were sound asleep. But it didn't take long to figure out the next morning that we were visited at night. We found bear fur, bear paw marks and Nathan's truck a-tawna cover of his truck was ripped. Thankfully he was caught the next day. Phew!!!

Lots of reading was done, as well as visiting (my mom and dad came for one night) and painting. Oh, and maybe a wee bit of schoolwork as well....wouldn't want their teachers to think they didn't do a single thing all summer long! And before you tsk tsk me for doing this with them, I think we did schoolwork all of twice in 2.5 weeks. :)
(he read 6.5 books! I love that he can relax.)

My silly boy and his many facial expressions:
(maybe if I close my eyes, mom will stop taking pictures of me....)

My beautiful girl

Beach time!! The first 6 days we didn't see a drop of rain (that is something as this summer we have had so much rain.).

If you want it, you gotta carry it!! ;)

We checked out some hiking trails. One part of a trail was quite beautiful and I think I took more pictures here than anywhere else the whole time we were at Restoule!

 Peek-a-boo!!

We followed the "map" and Lincoln's ability to read the map (it's a piece of birch bark ;)

Lots of fishing was done - which meant having to dig up worms first.

The kids met some other kids and before you know it, they are fast friends. They would spend hours after supper in the empty sites next to us and play all kinds of games that they would make up on the fly.

Keziah and Lincoln got a chance to go tubing. Keziah LOVED it.....Lincoln? Not at all. First picture: ignorance is bliss

The tube left with two kids....
..... but came back with only one on it. Despite Nathan's thumb's up in the above picture, Lincoln was screaming his fool head off!! So he ended up in the boat.

Hmmmmm, there's more but I shall end it here for now. I love going back over these pictures - makes me so thankful for the time God gave us as a family. I look forward to posting the rest next time!
