Last Camping Trip of 2016

You'd think that all we do is camp! :)

Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone, meaning another camping trip is in the books. We have gone camping on this weekend for 14ish years now. We love this tradition and plan on keeping it for many years to come.

The weather was on the cool side but it was sunny, so no complaints. It was a weekend filled with games, campfires, biking, playing at the park, badminton, and plenty of time for good long talks with some great friends.

We hardly saw the kids as they just bounced from one park to the other one, only coming back to the site when they were hungry, so as you guessed it, we saw Lincoln more than Kez. Keziah would eat breakfast, go to the park with her friend, come back around 1 for lunch, and then at 5 we would have to go get them for supper. Boy, did they sleep well at night!

My sister and her family were there as well, so the cousins had some good times together.

My namesake and my daughter

Some good sports playing Uno with Lincoln, his favourite game. Time to teach him a different one!

Tradition is our Saturday night fire pizzas. Yummy!!!

We are so blessed, surrounded by God-fearing friends.

Notice anything missing in this picture?! Let's just say that by the end of the day, they were no longer white.....

Everyone leaves on the Thanksgiving Monday as the park closes for the season. That means long line-ups to get rid of well, waste. Thankfully this park has revamped this all and added a new dumping station to go with the other one. That means we only had to wait 25 minutes instead of over an hour!

While daddy does the dirty work, we went to the park where I could finally get some pictures of the kids, especially Keziah.

We came home and this boy must have missed his cars. He spent 1.5 hours lining them all up on the step outside.

It was such a great weekend to wrap up our camping adventures for the year. We are thankful for all that we have from God, with the most being that we get to live life knowing He is our Lord and Saviour.

Our trailer is now cleaned out and stored away, waiting patiently to be pulled up again next spring. While it is stored, we are talking about where to go next year......do you have any ideas? Do share!!

  1. I'm not sure if I've said before but Awenda Provincial Park is nice, Sibbald Point Provincial Park is good too. It is close to me has really good ice cream! We will go for the day sometimes and used to camp there a lot.

    1. Yes, we went to Awenda on our honeymoon, many years ago! Beautiful park but I remember the "nice" beach being quite the walk. We take too many sand toys with for that walk. In a few years maybe, it'll be easier to carry all our junk :) We have also camped often at Sibbald, for a few summers straight as it was close by. It has a great playground and beautiful beach. We found the weekends not so fun as everyone and their aunts from Toronto would come up. It was so crowded!! But it served its purpose for us when the kiddies were small(er).
