Trip To BC Part 3

After resting our weary legs from all the walking we did yesterday, we figured it was time for a hike! Every mountain and hill we have passed, the kids have asked to hike it. So off we went for a drive and hike up Sumas Mountain.

The trees here were just so tall.

After our little hike, we decided to do some off-roading. I mean, we have a rental car so it's the best time to do that, isn't it?!

After some spinning of tires and dodging fallen rocks, we got to the top!

Of course after all that hiking and driving, we were out of fuel, both car and us. So we stopped to fill up the car first, which was right in front of a rail track. Someone LOVES trains!!

And then much to Lincoln's delight, we found a restaurant also beside the train tracks. "I don't know what I am going to do when my food comes. I can't eat it because I want to watch the trains." Say what?!?! This boy has NEVER turned away from food. Ever. We have found out this trip that trains trump food. I do believe we will be building a train track in our back yard......while there may be an initial cost to doing that, I truly believe we will save money on food in the end! :)

Once we were all full, we hopped back into the car to enjoy some more of the sights that the Fraser Valley has to offer, including making a stop at the side of the Fraser River to throw in some rocks.

We made it home just in time to welcome Nathan's dad for supper. He also was visiting the province for work and it happened to be in the weeks that we were here. So he joined us one evening.

Another day done! The next day was Friday and we packed up our bags once again, traveled across the border and stayed with some very dear friends of ours, Ryan and Michelle, for the weekend. As you guessed it - that'll be next time!
