February Flashback

See what happens when I don't commit to this blog everyday?! 10 days go by without a single post! The 16 degree weather we've been having may have something to do with it. Oh, we did have a snowstorm last week too (only in Canada.....go from snowy days to plus 16 in a matter of a week!). And we are eagerly washing and packing for a trip to visit some friends in mountainous British Columbia and Lynden, Washington (2 more nights sleeping, Karen and Michelle!!!!).

But while I took a picture everyday last month, there are actually some events and pictures that didn't end up here. So let's do a little February Flashback:

Finally, finally this girl was Star of the Week. It couldn't happen soon enough for her. She was so excited because that meant she gets to go to the washroom first. When you are someone who diddle-daddles and fiddle-farts, which means you are often left in the dust of everyone else, going *first* is a big deal :o)

Part of being Star of the Week meant bringing in a poster of pictures from the last 6.5 years. Well, the kids were educated about freckles, bubbles and adoption, thanks to this poster.

One cold and blustery Saturday evening, we thought it would be fun to roast marshmallows for our s'mores in our fireplace. It was so fun!!

Valentine Pancakes :)

Keziah is getting quite a bit more confident on skates. She often prefers to go on her own and navigate around the rink, rather than having one of us help her. When she is determined, she doesn't like anyone in her way. Lincoln? Well, let's just say we know he'll get there......

Keziah had 100 Day at school and her teacher asked the students to dress up like a 100 year old. So off to Value Village we went and came up with this costume for her. Cutest 100 year old I've ever seen!

She also had to bring in 100 things of one item (Lego, buttons etc.), so she brought in 100 of her bravery beads. I didn't think she would have 100, but I was so wrong. She has over 250!!

Tobogganing fun before the snow all melted!

So Keziah has a beautiful dollhouse in her room which you would think would be filled with furniture. Nope. See that Kleenex and all those colourful objects on it? Yeah, apparently she has a candy collection - one that goes back to last fall!! What a girl!

This is usually what happens either when she comes home from school or on a Saturday - their imaginations run wild and rooms end up looking like tornadoes came and went. But hey, it is all worth it as these two have hours and hours of fun together. As for cleaning it all up? It's amazing how quickly they can get it done with a timer on! :)

And that is February. It was a good month! I hope you are doing well in the changing of seasons. Spring is in the air but when I look back to pictures from April/May of the last years, we may not be done with snow yet. But for now, we shall enjoy the smell of Spring!
