Again??!?

Yup.....we spent another week camping. Again. This time we went with a bunch of other families, and stayed close to home, so all the dads could work and then join us later in the day and night.

The weather was a bit iffy all week long. We did have some rainy moments, but considering how often it threatened to rain but didn't, made us thankful.

This camping trip started off with a big bang right away.....with a "new to us" trailer. We were quite happy with our other trailer, except we would loved to have a slide-out. It just gives a bit more space, especially when it is raining and you are stuck inside. And so for the last few months, we've been checking out kijiji, and we finally came across a trailer that we liked AND it was for a good price. Nathan checked it out Monday, the day we were to leave, and came home with it around 1:30. Having already packed up our old trailer, we had to quickly 're-pack'. A bit of work, but oh so worth it as we were able to enjoy this trailer right away.

Having the slide-out proved to be worth it right away that night and the next day as we had moments where it poured. It was so nice to have a dry place to stay while waiting out the rain.

As I mentioned, we went with some other families. For the first number of days we had the loop pretty much to ourselves. I am not sure if seeing 23+ kids running around scared everyone away, but whatever the reason, we enjoyed quite a bit of space for the kids.

This wagon sure gave plenty of hours of fun for the kids. I am pretty sure it put on the most milage, going round and round the loop. Sure kept a few kids busy!! And us moms didn't mind, seeing as we always knew where they were.....I am sure you can imagine the noise that wagon made on that gravel!! :o)

Despite the threatening skies, we did head out to the beach every day. It often turned sunny by the afternoon. I am not overly thrilled with the water here, for the very reason my child is still sitting on the pot while I type this. Not sure if there is a connection, but both kids have been hit by something that has caused some unpleasantness in the washroom department. But last week it was fun!

One of my most favourite pictures of the summer. He is absolutely filthy, but having so much fun!!

Can't see how dirty he is? Here is a close up:

Oh well. Dirty boy = happy boy! :o)

The highlight of last week though were the campfires. It was fun to gather around and discuss all sorts of things, while enjoying some very tasty food:

And that is a wrap up of our summer camping (one more Fall camping to enjoy yet). What a summer it was! We had such a good time with friends, as well as time on our own as a family. It is such a blessing to be able to get away from it all, to sit and enjoy one another's company. It is during the camping time, that we take the time to smell the roses (or skunk if we think of this last trip), marvel at nature and God's deeds. We thank the Lord for blessing us this way.
