Sutton Fair

While we were camping, The Fair was in the town nearby. Seeing the words "Truck and Tractor Pull", we knew we just had to go. Yes, we are hicks :o)

We went a few hours before The Pull, walking around the fair, petting animals and enjoying some rides. This fair was actually quite large, with lots of different rides. We will never forget going either, as it was the fair where Keziah overcame her apprehension of rides, and was able to enjoy a few of them. And overcome she did, with the first one being a roller coaster!!!

Lincoln was also able to enjoy a few rides, the first one being Monster Trucks. Well, we think he enjoyed it. He looks pretty calm and relaxed....

Off to the ride that almost made me sick!

The biggest achievement for Keziah was that she actually went on the Bee ride. That was the ride that she just would NOT go on about a month and half ago (here). But this time she went on!! We were so proud of her! And she liked it!!

But once we had no money left, were done enjoying the rides, we went and found a spot to watch what we really came here for: the truck and tractor pull.

Keziah and especially Lincoln, were in their g-l-o-r-y just watching the grader getting the track ready.

After waiting for quite some time, the show finally began. And what a show it was!!! It was everything we came for: noisy, black smoke, blown transmissions,  broken drive shafts. Ahhhhh! Such fun!!!!

While waiting for it to begin took a bit too long for Lincoln, onceit did start, this boy was thrilled. Keziah? Well, she handled the waiting very well, but once it started.......

For Lincoln, the highlights were clearly all the trucks and tractors (and as you can tell, Lincoln wasn't the only one loving it; so was his dad!).

For Keziah, well, good thing the Fair Princess showed up. That made her night!

Much to Nathan's dismay, we left around 9 to go back to our campsite. He did ask me if I minded if he went back once we put the kids to bed. I think he knew my answer once I gave him the stinkeye. Nah, no stinkeye. But he did have to be reassured that this is the first of many Truck and Tractor pulls for the season, as the Fall Fairs are just around the corner.

Ack!! Did I just saw that Fall is around the corner??! It's actually not Fall that I am scared of. It's what comes after Fall. Oh, don't get me wrong. I love Winter. For two months. Good thing we are in for a h.o.t. week this week to keep all winter thoughts at bay (much to Keziah's chagrin, as she stated yesterday: winter is sure taking a long time to come. Bite your tongue, child!! :o)

  1. You are not hicks. Pulling is for perfectly normal people.

Good on Keziah for conquering her fear of rides.

Camping versus pulling??? Pulling wins every time. After the pull is over, you can still have a campfire.

    1. Well, it wasn't that I preferred to go back to camping. I didn't want him to go back because I would have been jealous!! :o)
